Philip Collins

Philip Collins is a columnist on The Times and an Associate Editor at Prospect. As well as a weekly column, he analyses the big speeches of the day, a format he pioneered. At The Times he is also a regular book reviewer, principally on politics and poetry. When he is not doing all that Collins is the chair of trustees at the think-tank Demos and a Visiting Fellow at University College, Oxford.

His previous books are The Art Of Speeches And Presentations, a guide to public speaking, two novels, the best-selling The Men From The Boys and Bobby Dazzler and numerous volumes on public policy. He has written many comedy sketches for the theatre and a two-act play about the privatisation of the monarchy. By far his most treasured writing credit, however, is his appearance in Wisden Almanac.
