Sarah-Jayne Blakemore was born in 1974. She is a Royal Society University Research Fellow and Professor in Cognitive Neuroscience at UCL. She is Leader of the Developmental Cognitive Neuroscience Group and Deputy Director of the UCL Institute of Cognitive Neuroscience. She was recently named by the Sunday Times one of the 100 people who will shape the 21st century, and advises the British Government and the Upper Tribunals on the policy and legislation toward young people. Her TED talk on the subject of her research has had over 1.5 million views to date. She was awarded the Rosalind Franklin Award in 2013.
