Tom Dyckhoff

Tom Dyckhoff is architecture critic of The Times, and architecture and design critic for BBC2’s weekly arts magazine programme, ‘The Culture Show’. For Channel 4, he wrote and presented a documentary on ugly buildings, ‘I Love Carbuncles’, and co-presented two series of ‘Grand Designs: Trade Secrets’, the spin-off series from the popular property show. His recent seven-part BBC2 series, ‘Saving Britain’s Past’, examined Britain’s obsession with heritage.

Tom has written for the Guardian, the Sunday Telegraph, GQ, Arena, Blueprint, the V&A Magazine and Icon, teaches architectural history from time to time at University College London, and writes the weekly ‘Let’s Move To…’ column for the Guardian’s Weekend magazine.

He was born in St Albans, grew up in various cathedral cities, and has MAs in Geography from Oxford University, and Architectural History from University College London. He lives in London.
