Alex Bellos
Alex Bellos has a degree in Mathematics and Philosophy. He has worked for the Guardian in London and Rio de Janeiro, where he was the paper’s foreign correspondent. In 2002 he wrote a critically acclaimed book about Brazilian football, and in 2006 he ghost-wrote Pelé’s autobiography, which was a number one bestseller.
For his book Alex’s Adventures in Numberland, Alex travelled all around the globe and plunged into history to uncover fascinating stories of mathematical achievement.
Alex’s Adventures in Numberland was shortlisted for the Samuel Johnson Prize for Non-Fiction and for the non-fiction category of the Galaxy National Book Awards.
