Lyse Doucet

Lyse Doucet is the BBC’s award-winning Chief International Correspondent and a senior presenter for BBC World News television and BBC World Service Radio. Before joining the BBC’s team of presenters in 1999, Lyse spent fifteen years as a BBC foreign correspondent with postings in Jerusalem, Amman, Tehran, Islamabad, Kabul and Abidjan. Born in eastern Canada, Lyse has fifteen honorary doctorates from leading British and Canadian Universities. She has a Master’s degree in International Relations from the University of Toronto and a BA Hons from Queen’s University in Kingston. Lyse is a senior fellow of Massey College of the University of Toronto. In 2014 she received an OBE in the Queen’s Honours list for services to British broadcast journalism and in 2019 was admitted to the Order of Canada.
